Day 43/365…fried pies and chili-cheese dogs…february 20, 2010

Today was a very lazy and unproductive day. That is until I checked Twitter. Sam Bradley suggested we go on an adventure; with nothing in mind, we jumped in the car and drove around “the other side of the tracks” of Lubbock, TX. Needless to say it was enjoyable…I mean we saw two ghetto cowboys, played on some train tracks – who says it’s illegal? – and saw a red Elvis and Marilyn Monroe look-alike rolling around the depot. We also walked around the South Plains Fairgrounds. I wanted to post a photo of the two ghetto barrel racers, but I didn’t get a shot I was happy with; they really didn’t seem to have control of the horses. So, this was from the fair grounds, nothing special just the flags lining the grounds –

It was a much enjoyed and much needed outing, hope to do it again soon! Oh, and remember to keep off the bridge!

Shot with Canon 5DMK2 and 35 1.4L lens.

ISO 400, 35mm, f4.0 @ 1/3200 sec. Edited with Adobe Lightroom 2.6.

  1. I like the dull colors and the brownish hue. Reminds me of the HBO series “Carnivále”.

HA…that show was actually in my head when I was out at the fair grounds!

  2. Nice shot. Good edging. That’s not the lens hood, is it?

Thanks! Nope, added a slight vignette in Lightroom.
