Day 69/365…lego maniac and more…march 18, 2010
Did not have much time to shoot today. So, here is one from yesterday’s trip to the Science Spectrum. Jacie invited me to come play after her “Rebuilding LegoLand” class –

I need some help/inspiration/encouragement/etc for this Project 365. I thought this would be a great way to challenge and help my photography; however, lately I am finding this more of a chore that I must do each day rather than a learning experience. I mean I love taking pictures, getting groups of other photogs together and adventuring, and coming up with new ideas to expand my skills. But this project is draining…almost to the point where I do not enjoy taking photos…

Oh Rob, I don’t like hearing its a chore 😦 I love seeing what you post. My fav is the one of you guns. I hope you find your creative spark again. I have an idea…… I will message you later about it.
I’ve heard a lot of people say that its a chore after about 3 mos. Keep plugging at it, you take nice photos. Is there a gimmick you can play with … depth of field one week, color another, monochrome, go through the rainbow…etc. Maybe shape? Something that will make you think and SEE in a new way.
I hope you don’t quit 🙂
I’ve really wanted to play around with storytelling. I think it would be a challenge, but the good kind, to try and do a story that takes seven days to tell. you can use text if you want, or just tell the story in images. Or plan a theme of some kind. I also thought it might be interesting if those of us doing this each took a day and picked a subject. It could be something as simple as “yellow” or abstract like “honest,” that way we could have a focus for that day. Just a couple of ideas I’ve been playing around with.
I’m obviously not the right person to advice on this, but for what it’s worth I’m really enjoying your photos.
